The magnificent black and white Grade I listed Samlesbury Hall in Preston, Lancashire, dates back to the 14th Century and can be yours exclusively for the day and evening.

The Whitaker Room is licensed for up to 90 for your ceremony, which can be followed by drinks and canapés on the front lawn (weather permitting) or if not, in their splendid historic rooms. With gorgeous private gardens, there is an abundance of photo opportunities, before you take your first seat as a married couple for your wedding breakfast in the 700 year old Great Hall. Enjoy an exquisitely prepared meal by Samlesbury’s team of award winning chefs, then dance the night away under the ancient timber beams.

The bridal lodge is reserved for the happy couple, but accommodation for up to 100 is available in the form of luxurious shepherd’s huts – all come with the comfiest beds, showers and toilets. You can then enjoy the best breakfast Lancashire has to offer in the Samlesbury Hall restaurant.

Samlesbury Hall can cater for weddings large and small, there are no minimum numbers and smaller ceremonies are welcome!

The Hall is cared for by a private charitable trust (reg no 526052) and any income from weddings goes straight back into looking after this beautiful historic house. Become a part of the Hall’s history and celebrate a day never to be forgotten – whether it be a glorious summer’s day in the gardens, or a wonderful winter wedding with roaring log fires.

Accommodation

In the grounds of historic Samlesbury Hall sits a gathering of colourful huts; Samlesbury Hall Shepherd's Hut Hamlet... a rustic and carefree alternative to your traditional hotel room.

Just as luxurious but with a rural edge, the hamlet is home to a collection of beautiful shepherd's huts, hand crafted to keep you toasty in winter and cool in the summer. Complete with two double beds in European oak, the huts boast all those little extras - memory foam mattresses, low-wattage electricity to keep your phone charged, as well as a cosy en-suite. The bathroom includes a spacious shower, hot water and soft towels, along with luxury toiletries. The huts are heated and well lit, including a camping lantern to add a rustic touch to your stay (and to light a moonlit walk).

The huts sleep up to four people and are available all year round.

Extra guests? Not a problem, we can cater for up to 150 during the day. Any additional guests will be charged individually.

Somewhere to sleep? Your guests can stay in our quirky and luxurious shepherd’s hut hamlet and join you the following morning for breakfast.
