Hodsock Priory is an historic country house wedding venue set in 800 acres of countryside on the border of Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire. We’ve restored our family home to become a luxury, award-winning, wedding and event venue. What makes us different? Well apart from the breathtaking views, our very own Tudor Gatehouse and acres of gardens, woodland and rolling fields, we also offer exclusivity. We only do one event at a time, so our home is all yours for the day.

Ceremonies

Ceremonies take place in The Panelled Hall, in front of the fireplace with amazing views of the Gatehouse and the North Lawn. The atmospheric room is packed with grandeur, overlooked by portraits of ancestors symbolising the coming together of two families.

Receptions

The Pavilion is the focal point of the house. This impressive room can hold 120 for a ceremonial dinner and 250 for your reception party. It is very simple yet elegant, with neutral walls and deep blue accents. A stunning room dressed with flowers and silverware, or a blank canvas for a themed wedding day.

Accommodation

Venture up the grand staircase to the sumptuous Bridal Suite and two guest rooms. The rest of the bridal party can enjoy an overnight stay in our former dairy, transformed into the five star Courtyard B&B.

The three House Bedrooms are The Bridal Suite,The Green Room and The Blue Room. The other 10 bedroom apartments are in our converted dairy, The Courtyard, as short distance away from the main house building

Directions by Road

Hodsock Priory is easy to get to, just a few minutes drive from the A1 M at Blyth.

SatNav users should be aware that some systems direct cars through the nearby village of Carlton-in-Lindrick and then along a disused Hodsock Lane to a dead-end in a field. If however you set your SatNav for ‘BLYTH’, you should avoid this misdirection!

Visiting Hodsock by Air

The nearest airports to Hodsock Priory are Robin Hood Airport, Doncaster (11 miles, approximately 25mins) and Gamston Airport, Retford (12 miles away, approximately 20mins).

Helicopters can take off and land at Hodsock Priory – either on the North Lawn or the Fan Lawn. (see below)

Visiting Hodsock Priory by Train

The nearest station Retford is a 10 minute drive away – only 90 minutes from London Kings Cross on the GNER East Coast line.

Approaching from the South on the A1

Leave the A1 on the A634, signposted MALTBY, which brings you into the village of BLYTH. In the village TURN LEFT onto the B6045, signposted WORKSOP, continue for 3/4 mile and TURN RIGHT, signposted HODSOCK PRIORY.

Approaching from the North on the A1

Turn off the A1(M) at Blyth Services. TURN RIGHT at the mini-roundabout, signposted BLYTH (B6045) and continue into BLYTH VILLAGE. In the village, pass the shop and TURN RIGHT (B6045, signposted WORKSOP), continue for 3/4 mile and TURN RIGHT, signposted HODSOCK PRIORY.
